Recently released Tamil movie Babu Baga Busy minted a total collection of Rs 0.75 crore on opening day. Witnessing a decent occupancy in cinema halls, the celluloid raked 0.72 crore income as its first day collection. As the film is facing massive box office competition with Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion, it reported a slow start to its box office journey.
Apart from showcasing a dull performance on Indian box office, the Tamil offering received mixed reviews and positive feedback from the audiences. With an average response from movie-watchers in south Indian states, the film raked Rs 5 Lakh shares from Ceded. Directed by Naveen Medaram, the film minted Rs 5.6 Lakh from West.
Releasing on a limited number of screens on May 5, the Tamil flick collected approx Rs 50 Lakh shares at the box office of both Telugu States, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Featuring Srinivas Avasarala, Tejaswi Madivada, Mishti Chakraborty and Sreemukhi in main roles, the comedy film failed to collect Rs 2 crore on the first day of its release.
Produced under the banners of Sri Abhishek Pictures, the south Indian celluloid didn’t manage to perform well as it clashed at box office with much awaited second part of Baahubali : The Beginning. Tamil version of SS Rajamouli’s venture has dominated most of the cinema halls and his film is not letting other movies to occupy some space for making a business at box office.
